Membership

According to the Charter, the membership in Armenian Mathematical Union is open to any professional who shares the goals and objectives of the Society and is ready to contribute to the dissemination of mathematical knowledge in the Republic of Armenia and educational institutions of the Diaspora. Statutory activities (organizing regular meetings, conferences, publications, awards, membership dues to International organizations, etc) require some funding. Ideally, they should be covered by the annual AMU membership fees. In fact, for the present, we do not have this capability. For example, our membership in International Mathematical Union is covered by Research Mathematics Fund. Some of our plans (publication of regular scientific issues, membership in European Mathematical Society, grants to young mathematicians, etc) now can not to be realized. Under such problems we try to activate the assembly of the annual dues. This is one of the reasons, why we begin the re-registration process.

Any suggestion for improving the work of the Union, as well as comments on possible omissions, will be greatly appreciated and taken into account in future.

For residents of the Republic the recommended annual membership fee is 5,000 AMD.
It can be transferred to Account I, listed below, or delivered to the representative of AMU in your Institution, for onward transmission to Treasurer of the AMU.

For members working abroad, the recommended amount is equivalent to $50. It can be transferred to the Account II, or delivered to Treasurer of the AMU when occasion offers.

“Annual” refers to the academic year (beginning in September).
Scale of contributions and donations is not limited (from below, and above).
If the payment exceeds the recommended amount, the balance is considered as a donation and is published in a special list. Certainly, according to the wishes of the donors, they can remain anonymous to the public.
